Where have you been in the US?

I've traveled around the United States quite a bit over the years, and I've had a chance to stay in all of our big cities. That means I've been to New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, and a bunch more. But in my opinion, none of these places even comes close to Boston as far as vacation destinations go. That's because I simply can't get the same mix of historical sites and modern attractions anywhere else. And since I've been to Beantown so many times, I've picked up some great travel tips -- including how to find all the best Boston hotel deals.

Lodging is always one of the biggest drains on my vacation budget, so I try to save money whenever possible. That's why knowing how to get good Boston hotel deals is so imperative. You might be under the impression that in order to get a nice discount, you have to connections within the service industry or you have to pay a membership fee to some special travel club. But the reality is that regular travelers like me can score great Boston hotel deals with minimal effort. In fact, with just a little extra planning and research I can choose from a number of current Boston hotel deals to find one that fits my requirements.

The first thing I do when planning for my trip is hit a few popular travel websites. These websites can tell me the best Boston hotel deals within seconds. Instead of stopping there, however, I just use those rates as a starting point. My next step is to call several hotels directly (or visit their websites) to see whether or not they can match or beat the quotes that I have in hand. Sometimes they can, so this step shouldn't be skipped. Finally, I check with a few of the larger national travel agencies to get rate quotes from them. After a mere 20 minutes or so, I have a long list of Boston hotel deals organized by price. Then, depending on my specific budget for the trip, I select and book my accommodations accordingly.

As you can see, there aren't any secret techniques involved in my selection process. But in my opinion, that's what makes my system so good. I am practically guaranteed to get better Boston hotel deals from these phone calls and website visits than I would if I just showed up in a random lobby and asked for a room. I've used this method numerous times to land cheap Boston hotel deals, and I haven't yet been disappointed in the results.

So if you're planning a trip to Beantown, I suggest doing a bit of legwork prior to leaving. With any luck, you'll find a fabulous Boston hotel deal that can save you lots of money.

Happy holidays...
